Some data points about me for your information:

I was born in 1968 in a small town in Germany.
My nationality is German and I currently live in Zurich, Switzerland.

English is my second language. I however decided to write this blog in English. So apologies for all my mistakes.

First contact with IT was in the early ’80s. My first ‘own’ computer was a Apple IIe followed by an Amiga 1000 and then plenty of “normal” PC’s. Right now I’m writing this on a Apple Mac Mini, while my notebook is a Lenovo X61t with Microsoft Windows 7 RC installed.

Since more than 20 years I’m working in different functions and roles within the IT industry, including IT help desk (early on) and IT consulting.

For more than 10 years I’m married to the same woman. We live togethereven longer. Some of my experiences will include her view on technology. My wife is a non-IT person, so her perspective on some of the things I do or want to do, is slightly different then mine. I’ll try to reflect some of these indifferences here.

Besides gadgets, computers and all the other electronic and online stuff I’m into I also have a passion for  other activities including reading books, photography, enjoying art, cooking, tasting fine Scotch Malt Whiskeys and meeting friends.
